Seven dynamic performers bring the stories and timeless hits of two of the 20th century’s most iconic songwriters—Carole King and Jim Croce—to life on the Music Hall stage. Blending theatrical storytelling with unforgettable music, this production captures the heart, soul, and spirit behind the songs that defined a generation.
Featuring an all-star cast of local musicians and performers—John Holenko, Skyler Waddell, Bradley Keith, Lara Swallen, Alex Shanko, and Aaron Hancock—this show is a celebration of artistry, community, and the enduring power of great songwriting.
Step into an unforgettable evening celebrating two of the most beloved singer-songwriters of the 20th century: Carole King and Jim Croce. This heartfelt tribute brings their timeless music to life, honoring the songs that defined a generation and continue to resonate today.
Carole King, a pioneering voice in pop and rock, helped shape the soundtrack of the 1960s and ’70s. As both a songwriter and performer, she crafted deeply personal, emotionally rich songs like “It’s Too Late,” “You’ve Got a Friend,” and “I Feel the Earth Move.” Her landmark album Tapestry remains one of the best-selling and most influential albums of all time, cementing her legacy as a trailblazer for women in music.
Alongside her story is the music of Jim Croce, whose warm, storytelling style and unmistakable voice captured the beauty and struggles of everyday life. With classics like “Operator (That’s Not the Way It Feels),” “Time in a Bottle,” and “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown,” Croce blended folk, rock, and soul into songs that feel both intimate and universal. Though his career was tragically cut short, his music endures as a testament to honest songwriting and emotional connection.
This show weaves together their greatest hits, stories behind the songs, and the spirit of an era when music spoke straight from the heart. Whether you grew up with these songs or are discovering them for the first time, this performance offers a powerful, nostalgic journey through two extraordinary catalogs.
